Besides being a model, I am an entrepreneur which simply means that I had failed many times before I understand how business really works. My brain never stop thinking of advertising, branding, marketing & creating efficient business systems.
I’ve always had a huge passion for the network marketing industry. Most network marketers I know are some of the most caring and genuine people who truly care about the success of others. Most of my business and entrepreneurial experiences derived from the network marketing industry.
In the Spring of 2010, I sat in my Business Marketing Research class at UNLV and my instructor, Professor Krishen gave our class a blank note card and told all of us to create our own “Personal Branding.” I took my modeling picture, the one of me in nerdy glasses and added these little symbols to represent the person that I am today. My personal branding was simply, I am a SexyNerd(z).” _
Since I was little, my dad told me that simply having good looks are not enough and that you need to have the brains to back up those pretty looks. I have always been a little nerdy. When I was younger, I used to write 500 vocabulary words from the dictionary and write them down 20 times over repeatedly. That was how I learnt English.
I came from a poor family in Singapore and I had to support my whole family since I was 14 years old. My first business was selling X’Mas cards door to door. I was pretty much laughed at and had doors slammed right at my face. I think some people took pity on me and bought the X’Mas cards. My entrepreneurial spirit comes from my mom. Even though my mom was not around for me when I was growing up, she always reminds me that when you want something you have to go and get it yourself.
Anyway, I thought it would be cool to start my own social networking website called “SexyNerdz™.” I recruited about 50 members, most of them in sexy, funky and nerdy glasses.After a few months into recruiting members into the Ning network, I decided that it would make a better business sense to create a brand called SexyNerdz™.
I am currently working on the SexyNerdz™ brand. If you have signed up to my newsletter, please be patient and we will let you know as soon as we launch it. Thank you so much. =)
Besides building up a fashion brand, I also get paid to do social media marketing for business owners, entrepreneurs & network marketers by helping them promote their personal brands through powerful social media marketing strategies including Facebook, Google (SEO), YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Wordpress Blogs, etc etc.
